The news has reported the freeing of American hostage Edan Alexander from Hamas captivity after 584 days.
Here are some news reports regarding his release:
“The IDF said to be limiting its Gaza operations ahead of Edan Alexander’s Release. But no Truce.”
Another Headline: “IDF Reports: Edan is Back in Israel After 584 Days in Captivity.”
From the Jerusalem Post: “Edan Alexander Crossed into Israel, Set to Meet his family.”
The IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. General Eyal Zamir said, “The army will continue to work for the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas. We are excited and welcome the return of Edan, an IDF fighter, home.” In captivity he experienced severe torture and was kept handcuffed in a cage, until his release today. A horrible and painful experience.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu is sending a delegation to Tuesday’s hostage negotiations in Doha after a telephone conversation with President Trump and a meeting with Witkoff. In another meeting, Netanyahu, Ambassador Huckabee, and Witkoff discussed the hostage release framework and ceasefire negotiations.”
There is a mixture of joy and sadness today in Israel as Edan is released, but 58 hostages, including the remains of some, continue being held in captivity by Hamas. “For families joy, despair, frustration, over coming release of hostage Edan Alexander.”
Continue to ‘pray for the peace of Jerusalem’, the release of all the hostages, and the defeat of Hamas. Because “this is a war of good against evil, of light against darkness. And light must win.” (Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu).
