A few weeks ago, we reported that rapper Kanye West was banned from social media for his antisemitic remarks. Last month, West made an unannounced visit to the Los Angeles corporate offices of footwear maker, Skechers. Reuters reports Sketchers executives escorted the rapper and fashion designer off the premises and explained they have no intention of working with West. A spokesperson for the footwear brand said, “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.”

The footwear brand Adidas also severed their relationship with West, but many question why it took the German company so long to make their decision. Adidas’ total losses from its severing of ties with West stands at $645 million.

Kanye West had some serious chutzpah to show up at the Sketchers corporate offices. He might have been looking for a deal amidst his antisemitic tirade, but he certainly didn’t do his business research, because the CEO and founder of Skechers is Robert Greenberg, a Jewish-man. And the co-founder and president of the company is Michael Greenberg, also a Jewish man. Hence, the reason Kanye was escorted off the Sketchers property.
