Death Penalty

In News Surrounding Israel by Tim Munger

Hamas has executed five Palestinians in Gaza, two for “collaborating with Israel.” The two executed men were 58 years old and 48 years old. The others were convicted of murder.

The executions occurred in spite of international condemnation of capital punishment. European Union Ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Sven Kuehn Von Burgsdorff expressed his concern with the executions. “Hamas must respect Palestine’s obligations under international human rights law. Executions are cruel and inhuman and can under no circumstances be justified as they deny the victims of human dignity.”

The words “the other three were found guilty of murder.” Let those words sink in for a moment. A terror organization, Hamas, who has committed numerous murders of Israeli citizens and its own citizens, executes three of their own. That is a case of the pot calling the kettle black!
