Iran: Iran has a reputation of actively supporting and engaging in terror acts. In the July 1994 bombing of the Buenos Aires Jewish Community Center, it was the sixth largest terrorist bombing in the world outside of Israel. Two prosecutors, Alberto Nisman and Marcello Martinez Bergoglio “formally accused the Iranian government of directing the bombing and the Lebanese Islamist militant group Hezbollah of carrying it out.” The attack killed 85 people and wounded 300 more.
The tentacles of Iran reach not only regionally in the area of Israel, but globally. Iran has proxies, those that do their bidding and receive funding from Tehran are in the following areas:
Gaza: US and Israeli officials believe the Hamas terror network receives funds, arms, training, and intelligence. Hamas receives between 70-100 million dollars annually from Iran.
Hezbollah: which means ‘Party of God.’ Hezbollah is one of the most powerful paramilitary forces in the Middle East. They have both a political and military arm, but both are closely linked. In 1983 Hezbollah carried out the deadly bombing of the Marine base in Beirut that killed 241 US servicemen. Hezbollah receives from Iran 800 million to 1 billion dollars from Tehran, in addition they have 150,000-200,000 rockets aimed at Israel, including many precision rockets. In recent days, rocket attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon led to the evacuation of communities on Israel’s border.
Iraq and Yemen: With the Islamic Resistance in Iraq and with the Houthis in Yemen Iran extends its tentacles of terror further in the region. The Houthis are “a Yemeni clan that formed a terrorist organization known as Ansar Allah. They have menaced shipping in the Red Sea and struck Israel four times with ballistic missiles, “something Iran has never dared to do in forty years since the Islamic Revolution.”
Israel faces a multi-front conflict with Iran from Gaza in its southern region, to Iran backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, Syria, and other unfriendly neighbors who want to see it eliminated and pushed into the Mediterranean Sea. Iran even has a clock counting down the days until it destroys Israel. No wonder Israel has said, “If the Arabs put down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel puts down their weapons, there would be no more Israel.” So Israel must fight until their enemies on all sides are defeated.
